The X family is growing: officially presented the Fujifilm XT2
The Japanese firm has announced the launch of the Fujifilm XT2, new model in its premium range of mirrorless cameras. This device comes to replace the X -T1, which opened a line camera models in the catalog of Fuji, the camera with retro look but performance art.
Following the presentation of the X -Pro2, and it was rumored for some time that the X -T1 also would receive the baton and so it has been. As expected, the new camera receives some inherited updates directly from it (sensor, processor …), but we would not be fair if we deny that there are also entirely new elements and a (slight but well thought out) redesign, as we tell you then.
What’s new in the XT2?
Outwardly, the novelties are few eye. In fact, without the two models together please refer to specifications to verify that the camera has grown a few millimeters in all three dimensions. Maintains superior mechanical dials for direct operation of the main parameters characterizing the X -T1, but are now higher and include a lock button.
Of course it maintains (improvement, in theory) its resistance to dust, water and low temperatures and, moreover, has received an external redesign of the viewer, has joined a small joystick to choose the focus point (such as that X -Pro2 looks), double card slot and an LCD that can now be deployed in three axes.
So, logically, which has more news is internally since both the sensor and the processor are new, namely the X-Trans CMOS III 24 megapixel and X Processor Pro processor. It is true that as we saw in the said X-Pro2 but no longer the best that can offer at this time Fujifilm and a security check image quality and analyzing the chamber.
Fuji XT2 Improved performance
- The new “X -Processor Pro” processor makes the Fujifilm XT2 in the operating chamber faster X Series:
- Ignition delay of 0.3 seconds.
- Shot interval 0.17 seconds.
- Shutter lag 0.045 seconds.
- 8 fps burst using the mechanical shutter, up to 11 fps using the optional handle VPB- XT2.
The greater processing power enables refining revealed internal RAW camera , improving the result of the simulation modes existing film in the X -T1 and incorporating simulation mode film ACROS , a film in black and white that plays tones soft , black with depth and full of rich textures .
The best in focus, where the mixed detection system remains more phase detection by contrast, but now a larger area of the first, approximately 75% of the total compared to 40% offered by the previous model offered are also important. It also increases the number of focus points (49 to 91) and included customization possibilities autofocus, which can either be adjusted according to preset for the most common situations or set manually adjusting the preferences into three parameters: motion sensitivity, sensitivity and speed zone setting subject on the priority approach.
These improvements and related to the overall process speed that gives the new hardware, the idea of Fujifilm is that the Fuji XT2 provide a quick response to capture decisive moments and therefore becomes the ideal camera fashion photographers, nature and sports. Professionals, depending on the brand would have in his hand a team up to 60% less bulky than those currently often used for these purposes
And, for Fuji, it is a renovation that has been well thought out from the point of view of both the demands of users and professionals to whom it is intended. In fact, since the signing told us that this development expanded the number of photographers often they work for such purposes up to involve no less than 200 professionals worldwide.
